Children’s Hospital of Washington has received $1.9 million in federal funds, according to a budget released Thursday.
The hospital was named in honor of President Donald Trump’s children in honor to mark his birthday in April.
The money was provided by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
The funding was made available to support the hospital’s emergency and urgent care, primary care and geriatric services.
The $1 million will support critical needs and to fund the construction of the first of its type in the country.
The facility was built to house more than 1,000 children in intensive care and pediatric intensive care units.
