Hospital in western Colorado closes after 10 days without patients

A hospital in northern Colorado has closed for more than 10 days after 10 of its patients were taken ill.

The Colorado Springs Regional Medical Center said it was closed on Thursday after receiving three patients with pneumonia.

The hospital said they had been in the ICU for several days and were under observation.

The hospital said it had no further information on how the patients were treated.

The facility has no beds and has limited staffing, and the staff there is limited to one medical technician, said Steve Muehlhauser, a spokesman for the hospital.

Muehlheller said the facility is still working to find additional space.

There is no word on the patients’ condition.
