Tampines police: Man charged in stabbing death of infant

Tampa, Florida — A man is facing a charge of first-degree murder in the stabbing death last month of an infant, police said.

The infant was found at the home of a woman with serious injuries after being attacked in the parking lot of the Jacksonville Children’s Hospital on April 10, said Tampa Police Chief William B. King.

“The infant is deceased, and the suspect is facing murder charges,” King said.

According to the Hillsborough County Jail, the infant was pronounced dead at the hospital at 9:48 p.m. on April 13.

He was taken to Children’s Medical Center Tampa for further evaluation.

The suspect is described as a black male, in his 20s, 6 feet tall and weighing around 300 pounds, police added.
